Second, we need to know what you think about the following.
- Hip Hop price ($10/person) Is it to high? If we lowered it would you guys want to try it more. Quick reminder that Hip Hop is not difficult because she explains everything to you and then you dance the routine, it's really fun!
- Adding a class on Sundays at 11:30am, but all of you would have to enter the mall through Public Safety (on the Sears side) and sign-in since it's before mall hours.
- Adding a class on Saturday at 5 or 6pm.
- Clip Dance. What would make you guys more interested in it? Is it too expensive?
I should be getting plenty of comments for this one guys! ;]
Yours,
DianaN.
i dont think the price is too high for hip hop but since the rest of ur classes are $7 it would be cool if that one was too and adding a 5 or 6 pm class on saturdays would be awsome because i work and cant get to the afternoon classes :(
ReplyDelete1. Hip Hop - loved it and went even with $10 ( before I was handicapped:)) but yes I think the price is too high - most people have gym memberships and all so it becomes too much - if we were able to use our passes that would be great and I think more people might come try it ;)
ReplyDelete2. and 3. I think adding class on the weekend is definitely a great idea whether in the morning or later in the afternoon as number one they get crowded and number two it would give people more flexibility with their schedules with summer coming and all
4. Personally not interested in Clip Dance - doesn't look to appealing but I think for other people it might be a time issue and also the fact that we never "saw" what it was - maybe she should come do a demo during class or something
Miss ya guys!
Sarah
I think a lot of people (myself included) are intimidated by hip hop even though I consider myself a good dancer. He he. A good way to introduce a new class is to have one or two "free" introductory classes for beginners, so that in case people don't like it, they don't feel like they wasted their money and hopefully, find out that it was actually fun and why they didn't do it before. Maybe ask people to sign up so you guys know how many of these intro classes to have. And yes, I think the hip hop/clip classes should be the same price. I know there are studios charging $15+ but they have less than 10 students. My 2 cents. :-)
ReplyDeleteIts too expensive
ReplyDeleteSome A/C during class hour would be appreciated! It is way to hot!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to number 3, I was at the mall around 11:00 and the doors were open, so probably there is no need to enter thru Sears?
Thanks!
Ok, here is my serious input ;)

People who come to your studio are mostly crazy "sensumba" lovers not really looking for an alternative. They would probably need a special motivation to consider trying something else.
As for the class price - no, it is not too high if hip hop is twice as good as "sensumba". (I realize there are reasons for that price ...just presenting a customer's point of view.)
Ad.2&3
Absolutely YES, please!

As in Ad.1.
Thank you for the blog <3
Cheers!

1) I believe the reasons behind the lack of students for Hip Hop class are first, it's indeed expensive, and it would be great for us to just use our Sensa-Cards to enter instead of buying a single pass. Second, I have watched the video of the demo class (the video with all the instructors) and I once saw a class, and to tell you the truth, I think it doesn't look as challenging or as dance fitness oriented as Sensazao. If the class price would be 7 Dollars, as the others, I would be more than happy to try it out, it looks fun, definitely, but I am also interested in the workout part.
ReplyDelete2) I think I can make it, signing in and entering through Sears should not be a big deal.
3) Yes, please (5 AND 6 if possible)
4) Same reasons as Hip Hop, and a free 1 hour demo would be nice too, who is the instructor?
By the way, I am gonna say this with all due respect and maybe this is a stupid question but here it goes: why would you charge 10 Dollars for a new and different class other than the ones from Sensazao Dance Fitness? What makes them so special for you to charge us 10 Dollars? You charge 7 Dollars for all the Sensazao Crew classes and even the class for kids, regardless of the instructor, why would you charge more for one people are not use to? Import Tariffs? LOL
I would like Diana to, please, explain this, because it doesn't make any sense for me, just by the fact such classes are too expensive and people don't really know about the kind of class, exercise and the instructor, will most likely make them unsuccessful in comparison to the Sensazao classes.
Thanks in advance
Sincerely yours:
The Sensazao-Freak :P
it's not one of the above option, but i am interested in regular dance fitness exercise on sunday at 6p or 7p... (instead of 1130a), thanks
ReplyDeleteIf I could punch my member card to attend a HipHip class I would more likely go to that class. Paying an extra $10 doesn't seem worth it to me. Why does it cost more?
ReplyDeleteI think having more classes is a great idea! The studio clearly has a great member base and is growing everyday. I think that it will help keep class sizes manageble.
What is "Clip Dance?"
Thanks,
-M

Hello Diana,
ReplyDeleteI did not see a place where I could address the issue with which I have a concern. Consequently, I'm bringing it up as a comment to your request for suggestions. My apologies, therefore, for this not being on the list above, and for my comment not addressing those points.
What can be done about the air-flow in the studio during classes? The fan in the back corner, even when turned on high, does nothing to cool the area. While I come to sweat I found the heat today in Diego's class actually sapped my energy. Can fans be added in the studio?
Thank you, Diana and Sensazao crew, for the opportunity to share thoughts about all things Sensazao through this blog. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI do think the Hip Hop class price is too high, and I'd be willing to try it if it were lower. With a $10 price, I think, "Is it worth more (to me) than a regular Sensazao class with my favourite instructor?" And my answer is no.
I'd be up for the new Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning classes, but that being said, I do think some of us have a preference for one instructor or another, so unless it's that person, people may be less inclined to go. I know most of the music and choreography is the same, but I think some of us prefer the style or energy or motivation we get from one instructor over another, but I do like the variety of instructors that are available to us.
And finally, clip dance....I'm not sure I understand the difference between clip dance and hip hop dance. The clip dance video you guys shared seems to be only a few choreographies, so maybe it would help if there was a longer video or even something with the clip dance instructor.
Again, thank you for asking our input and feedback on studio stuff here! BTW, love the new and organized way of entering the studio before classes--thank you!
Hi - thanks for having this blog,
ReplyDelete1. Yes, $10 is too high to start off with especially since we don't know what the class is about...
2 & 3. - awesome! More classes are always needed since it's very crowded at times...
For the hip hop class, speaking for myself I am interested in trying the class but I do think its too expensive. At $10 a class thats $40 a month in addition to the regular classes. I think if it was the same fee as the sensazao classes $7 indiv/ or $25 for 5 I would definitely go. I love coming to the studio:)
ReplyDeletei think the hip-hop class is too expensive for students. it should be at least the same cost like other classes or maybe about $7.00? also, students should be able to use their sensazao passes or create a 5 for 25 pass just for hip-hop. Olga is a great instructor!
ReplyDeleteOk so the verdict is obvious: Hip Hop price is too high. We will do something to change about that.
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely add more classes but that will be discussed with the Crew and it will most likely happen around May when I have the whole Crew with me ;]
I will speak with Olga and Andrea(Clip Dance Instructor) about doing 1 or 2 free demo classes.
The A/C issue will be addressed in a separate blog ;]
Thank you all you guys for participating and for appreciating the service we give to you! :]
<3
more saturday and sunday classes would be awesome - you guys are great!
ReplyDelete"People who come to your studio are mostly crazy "sensumba" lovers not really looking for an alternative. They would probably need a special motivation to consider trying something else."
ReplyDelete--absolutely!-- As for the price, I've looked into some more traditional classes like hip-hop and they're much more expensive other places. Sorry guys! 10 dollars is in fact a good deal and I'm not sure people realize that...generally we go to Sensazao for the very fun and wonderful workout...hip-hop doesn't seem to have that same sweat factor.
-christine
Yes, thank you for bringing that up. $10 is actually rather cheap BUT because of the crowd being used to the $7 rate for "such a good workout" I can see why they see $10 as expensive.
ReplyDeleteThe price will be lowered. And adding classes will be discussed with The Crew as soon as they are all here.
Thanks for reading guys!!
I would love a Sunday night class! 4pm would be perfect.
